This program enables students to defray a portion of their educational expenses with part-time work earnings. Participants must have a Work Study Award through the Financial Aid Office. Off-campus positions with approved nonprofit agencies are available for interested students with work study awards.  Examples of these agencies include the YWCA,  Boy's and Girl's Club, Catholic Charities, City of Fort Worth, City of Arlington, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

This "self-help" program is strongly emphasized at UT Arlington due to the documented benefits realized by participants, which include improved academic performance and reduced reliance on student loans.

Serving the community through the Off Campus Work-Study/Community Services program is a major benefit of this program.  The opportunity to work with a variety of people of different ages and backgrounds gives students  a sound work experience.

To register for the Off Campus Work-Study/Community Service Program, please bring your Eligibility Form or Financial Aid Award  Letter to the Student Employment Services Office. For more information, please call 817-272-2895.
